Former Baptist Church Member
"It's True, So Stop Asking Me!"
By Jennifer Lisenbee
My mom brought me up Protestant. We went to
several different churches, Nazarene, and Baptist. She was against
the Mormon Church, and I was told a lot of false beliefs about the
Church that she had learned over the years.
It wasn't until I was older and out of her home
when I realized I needed to raise my kids with better values that I
found the Church, or rather the Missionaries found me.
I needed God. I knew He was the only one I could
trust and the only One who could help. I picked up the scriptures
and read the first 4 books of the New Testament and then proceeded
to read the Book of Mormon.
I prayed many times about the Book of Mormon and
of it's truth. Once the Missionaries knocked on my door the same
day. Several times the Spirit gave me that warm feeling. And finally
I was woken up one morning. I sat straight up in bed with the words:
"The Book of Mormon is true! So stop asking me!" ringing in my head.
I went to Church from then on and never doubted
it!
