Former Presbyterian Church Members
My Entire Being Was Filled With Light
By Kitty Cather
I grew up in Front Royal, Virginia and attended a Presbyterian
Church, a stones throw from my home. I remember liking Sunday School
and Bible School.
The summer of 1970, I read the account of Joseph Smith's First
Vision in the Encyclopedia Britannica. As I read my entire
being was filled with LIGHT, and I knew that Joseph Smith had seen
Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.
I went to Richmond, Virginia where my brother Bob and his family
lived. There I called The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints and asked if I might have a Book Of Mormon to read and to be
taught about the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Two Mormon Missionaries arrived soon with the Book Of Mormon, and to
tell me there was a Branch of The Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints, only 30 minutes from Front Royal, in Winchester,
Virginia!
Soon Elder Richard Millard and his companion began to teach me about
the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ. As the Missionaries
taught me, I knew what they were teaching was true, even before I
read the Book of Mormon.
I was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints By Elder Richard Millard on October 11, 1970.
